The 2016 Henry County Fair Ribbon Auction was held on Monday, July 18, 2016, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.  38 buyers purchased a total of 86 ribbons for a $995 average.  $37,825 will be returned to this year’s exhibitors at a $440 average per head.  Nine head of sheep exhibitors brought $2,225 for a $247 average; ten goat exhibitors averaged $245 for a total of $2,450; four broiler exhibitors totaled $825; 34 swine exhibitors totaled $13,925 with a $410 average and the market beef brought $18,400 for 29 exhibitors at a $634 average.

Jason Denning of Steffes Group and Jim Huff of Sullivan Auctions were the auctioneers for this year’s sale.  Buyers were 321 Trucking, Agri Center of Henry County, Agri-Way Partners, Bloomfield Livestock Sales, Bob Dodds Insurance, Chem Gro, CML Farms, CND Farms, Community 1st Credit Union, Danville State Savings Bank, Darbyshire Trucking, Dr. Mark Pothitakis, Farm Bureau Insurance-Larry Holtcamp, Fitz Farms & Channel Seeds, JJ Nichting, Keosauqua Sale Company, L & N Repair, Mediapolis Savings Bank, Miller Farms, Mt. Pleasant Lumber, Pep Gas, Pilot Grove Savings Bank, Quality Ag Service, Quality Plus Feeds, River Valley Coop, Sandeen Seeds, Sinclair Tractor, Svea Mutual Insurance, US Bank, Wayland State Bank, Wesley Barton Construction, Westlake Farms, Winfield Builders Supply, Woline Farms, Bob Wright, Wright Farms, Wright Heritage Farms, and Wright Red Angus.
