Obtaining enough capital to pursue a career in production agriculture can be challenging. With this in mind Iowa Agricultural Development Division (IADD), the Farm Service Agency (FSA) in coordination with Henry County Extension have organized a meeting, sponsored by Pilot Grove Savings Bank, as a way to highlight several programs available to assist beginning farmers and agricultural asset owners who lease to beginning farmers. The informational meeting will be held September 15th at 7pm in the basement meeting room of the Henry County Extension Office.

Speakers representing IADD and Henry County FSA will explain the different loan and tax options available to beginning farmers and agricultural asset owners. This hour and a half meeting is free of charge and requires no obligation on your part to sign up and/or share any information. Topics to be discussed will include the Beginning Farmer Loan Program, the FSA Direct Farm Ownership Down Payment Loan Program, Loan Participation Program, Beginning Farmer Tax Credit Program and the Beginning Farmer Custom Farming Tax Credit.

Refreshments, for this free meeting, will be provided by Pilot Grove Savings Bank. RSVPs are desired by September 13th to the Henry County Extension office, 319-385-8126.
