12th Annual Louisa County Tractor Ride “Farming For Flynn,” Sept. 10

The 12th Annual Louisa County Tractor Ride will be held Saturday,  September 10, 2016.

The 42 mile ride (10 mph minimum) will start at Newport Junction (Hwy 78 and 61). Sign in will be at 8:30 a.m. with roll out at 9:00 a.m. The riders will then travel to the  Littleton Brothers Memorial in Toolsboro, will stop for lunch at the Wapello Homecoming grounds for a meal courtesy of Sinclair Tractor of Winfield and served by Louisa County Cattlemen’s Association. The group will travel west on 5 mile lane with a stop in Morning Sun then return to Newport.

This year’s ride is designated “Farming For Flynn.” Flynn Lanferman is an 11 year old boy from Rome, Iowa, battling cancer for the fourth time. He is the grandson of John and Judy (Garland) Lanferman of Rome and the great grandson of the late Steve and Nancy Garland of Morning Sun.

A goodwill donation will be collected to help the Lanferman family with travel expenses.
